The announcer called them “personal vegetable crafts (PVCs).” The Pumpkin Regatta is literally people paddling enormous pumpkins across Lake Pesaquid. The paddlers carve out the pumpkin’s centers and create elaborate seating on the inside. They paint the pumpkins on the outside, and paddlers sometimes wear costumes to match. Some paddlers row alone, some in twos, some in a team. I sincerely regret that I got there too late to see the Parade of Paddlers before the race, where the paddlers marched their PVCs down Windsor’s Main Street. A good time was had by all!
Poutine is a Canadian thing – French fries topped with gravy and cheese curds.
Another Canadian thing – most any kind of frosting, sprinkles, candy, fruit, sugar combo on top of a fried pastry shaped like a beaver tail.
Schoolhouse Brewery – the beer with class! ? Bwa ha ha!
A local cover band
A Jack-o-lantern jumpy thing for the kids.
Two of my hosts, Domenic and Sebastian – who normally participate in the Sunday Windsor Farmers Market – selling healthier fare, and gourmet coffee! Honestly, this was one rare moment of quiet. Usually, they were pretty swamped!
Middle-age women dragon-boaters, collectively “The Breast Quest” in their pink boat. God bless them!
The winner comes in well before the competition.
