The Howe Fire was raging in the west end of Glacier while we were there. I was grateful that it was on the west side, because there are more major entrances to Glacier in the east, so we were able to see more of the Park. I was also SO glad that Mom and Dad got the clear Rockies experience the first couple of days in Banff, so we could have more grace about the limited access and visibility in Glacier. We also decided to be grateful for the insight into the experience of wildfires to make us more engaged and empathetic about that increasing danger.

Running Eagle Falls – A Park Ranger said that the cave behind the falls is a quarter of a mile deep. He also said there is no large hole in the cave, that the water collects from thousands of small fissures. Amazing!! I have never seen anything like it.
