My so very sweet friend Rae took days off of work for me!! She was the consummate host, truly. We had terrific excursions. She knows and loves the land deeply, and I really felt that being with her.
- Rae and Ellie gazing over Grand Forks, BC
- Grand Forks
- Grand Forks City Hall
- Farmers Market
- Grand Forks Art Gallery
- Ye Olde Fire Wagon
- I love seeing the mountain behind the store
- The charming and delicious Wooden Spoon Bistro
- Grand Forks had a catastrophic river flood several months earlier. I saw signs of recovery in different stages everywhere.
- Downtown Grand Forks bridge over the Granby River
- Because, Canada
- OMG, a deer and a cat hanging out.
- About to float down the Kettle River. Rae and Ross have got the gear! That’s a floating cooler on the back of the pickup. Cup holders galore!
- Rae took me paddle boarding (first time for both of us!) in lovely Christina Lake in Gladstone Provincial Park.
- Rae is one fierce athlete. She wrangled the boards down to the lake (and later, back up again!) like nobody’s business, and mastered the art of paddle boarding in about three minutes.
- Burrell Creek
- A black bear sighting!
- The view of Granby River from Rae’s family’s cabin.
