Olympic National Park has four distinct primary parts, with towns in between. Hurricane Ridge and Hoh Rainforest are each a bit of a drive inland from the main loop road around the peninsula. DO NOT SKIP ANYTHING. The natural diversity of this park is jaw-dropping. This is at the very least a two-day excursion, but it’s so lovely, I suggest taking more time. I left Minnie with friends in Olympia, and Max and I made this journey. I got a crummy-yet-not-cheap hotel room in Port Angeles for one night, and it was worth every penny.
I started from Olympia, the capitol of Washington, and went counter-clockwise on the peninsula.

On the lower right of the truck is a moose reaching out its nose and a woman reaching out her hand to touch each other. A sweet embodiment of regard between animals and human animals. And then there is an elk drinking a cup of coffee in the window! Port Angeles
Webster Park My mind already was blown because I haven’t seen such huge old growth trees in a city block park before, and then this vision of a charming woman in a dress and hat with a white fluffy dog appeared. The contrast and compatibility is exquisite. Port Angeles

As soon as I started looking for a place to pull off the road to get this shot, Tom Petty’s “Wildflowers” ?magically? came on from my playlist.
