The Minnesota family of one of my California friends, Dylan, just enveloped me and made this stay magical. I’d never met any of them, but they welcomed me with hugs and an itinerary full of fun!! First, they took me to their Gilligan-esque paradise, and they squired me around charming Stillwater. Ted just happens to the the mayor of this town, and so this fun family seems to be having quite an impact on the civic culture here. I heard story after story of community-building events, and now I follow the goings-on of Stillwater regularly. They’re a great role-model of civic engagement!
